Hi, I'm using: Sony DRX-700UL 8x (Double Layer) GQ DVD-R 1x-4x AMD Athlon 2GHz 512 MB of RAM USB 2.0 (but works as 1.0 since the driver is not installed) DVD Shrink takes about 30 minutes to rip a DVD as a backup on my HD. I have selected my DVD-RW Sony drive as the target drive in DVD Shrink, so DVD Shrink burns the back-up from my HD to the Sony DVD-RW drive automatically after it finishes ripping. (For some reason, I didn't need to use DVD Decrypter as suggested by many here, could this be the reason?). The burnt backup works fine. However, it takes at least 1-1.5 hours to finish burning the backup. How do I decrease this time?
Actually you are using Decrypter. That is what Shrink is using to burn your disc. Shrink cannot burn anything. You must have the "Launch DVD Decrypter to burn the output stage" box checked. Either that or you have Nero installed. Shrink can also call that program to burn as well. If this is what your burner is connected to then that's why your burn time is so long. A USB 1.1 port has a much much smaller data transfer rate than USB 2.0. Fix your USB problem and your burn speed will improve. If your burner is connected internally to an IDE buss then go into device manager and make sure you have DMA enabled for your drives. _X_X_X_X_X_[small]motorcycle racer computer newbie Sony VAIO Suzuki GSXR1000 [/small]
