dvd-r discs problem

    i bought some dvd-r discs form tiger direct they were pretty cheap but i cant get them to work the minute i put one in to the drive my computer starts freezing up like crazy i wanna use the discs to start burning but i cant get them to work o yeah and my burner is dual -r and +r so i dont get it do i have to do something special ? when i put some +r sony discs that i bought it worked fine and ive burned on it but with the otherones nothing

    Cheap discs are not ideal, although they shouldnt really cause ur drive to freeze up

    you think there could be something wrong with my burner ?
    i dont wanna return them cause i lost the reciept but i will if i have to

    To be honest i dont know. Its hard to know. It plays/records the Sony's fine, so thats a good sign. What i suggest you do is get some mid range and decent discs, a few Ritek G04 and a few Ritek +R ones and test them.

    thanx for your help i think ill just try to return those cheap discs and bit the bullet by purchasing good ones if i cant return them then i guess i learned my lesson, buy cheap and you have to buy twice. thanx again

    No prblem on the reply ;-)

    Just remember, we're not actually sure what th problem is yet, just wanting to test with a few more reliable discs until we can be sure.
