Help please, I've been burning dvd-r for about a month using Smartripper 2.27, DVD2ONE and Nero 6 with no problems. However a few days ago I did some backups for some friends and although they worked on my Pioneer A06 and on my Pioneer DV-444 standalone, non of the copies worked on the friends machines, I had the discs back off them and found they would now work OK in my A06, would NOT work in my DV-444 more often than would - and no way would they work in my LiteOn drive. Thinking back I have enabled raid on my PC and added another hard drive some time before I burnt the bad discs, I also installed an old version of CDRwin (3.08 I think) to do some images for a friend. I have tried disabling the RAID and removed CDRwin but have still got the problem. Tonight I thought I would try some different software so I installed DVD Shrink 2.3, all was going well until I got this message "Failed To Read From ASPI Device", is this another isolated problem or is the the problem I'm suffering from all along???? Help Please. I use Mirror media and also DataSafe Ritek G04 media.

BTW, I'm using Win98Se, is this a problem?,(I have a copy of XPpro available to me that I use on my Gaming machine). I only stuck with 98 on this machine for compatiability with older burning software that I find I rarely have any use for nowadays.

Windows 98 means that your hard drive is set up as FAT32. FAT32 doesnt support file sizes over 4GB so its better to have NTFS. However, Windows 98 doesnt support NTFS. But by answering this it puts it back to the top of the forum so other people with 98 can help sort you out :-D
