Which one is better -r or +r? I've been using -r with fantastic results! Is it possible to "edit" a DVD+R? What I mean by that question is a person that I know claims that he can edit and burn at a later date when he copies a DVD? I think he's on drugs, but correct me if I am wrong? He's using DVDCOPY PLUS? 1. DVDdecrypter 2. DVD2One 3. Nero 5 This system has been flawless 99% of the time.
Youcan edit any DVD with the right software regardless of the actually format of DVD R used. I personally use DVD-R
Thanks Oriphus for your comment! But does any one know if it's true that DVD-R work on most DVD players and that DVD+R only give you a slight performance enhancement? Also is it possible to re-burn a DVD+R?
DVD-R is more compatible w/ stand alone DVD Players , DVD+R is more compatible I believe w/ PS2 , X-Box games though.. Possible to re-burn DVD+R - No On DVD+RW - Yes (after erasing previous)
You can back up the copy and burn a fresh copy. DVD-R IS more compatible with standalones over +R. +R is said to have slightly better performance, but that is said by the manufactureres and not the DVD Forum, so i wouldnt take to much out fo it.___X_X_X_X_X_[small]For DVD Back up info: http://www.chrismccann.co.uk http://www.dvd-backup.tk For User Guides/Downloads: http://www.chrismccann.co.uk/user_guides.htm [/small]
[bold]krool [/bold] Do you mean burn a copy of the back up you've already created or alter the contents on DVD+R after it has been burnt ?
Thanks for all the cool info everyone! Someone that I know claims that you can alter the contents after it is burned on a DVD+R. I kind of look at him like he was nuts, but I only burn DVD-R. This is a DVDXCOPY question and I know this not where I should ask, but are the older versions of DVDXCOPY better than the current versions. I had to un-install my copy because when I had DVDdecrypter, DVD2one, and Nero on Windows XP with DVDXCOPY my machine would generate errors until I got rid DVDXCOPY. I had so many coasters with DVDXCOPY that out of 25 disk only 15 survived.
You was right to look at your mate like he was nuts cos you can only alter the contents if using RW not just R (whether using -R or +R) DVDXCopy is rubbish IMHO & I would discard it & only install again if absolutley needed. You can find more XCopy related matters here; http://dvdxcopy.afterdawn.com peace
Thanks again! I've learned so much from everyone in this forum. Let me get this straight? 1. There's really no difference between -R or +R. 2. +R are mostly used for backing up PS2 games 3. -R are more compatable with DVD players 4. There is no way to re-burn a +R 5. You can edit the contents of a DVD with the right software and it doesn't matter if it is a -R or +R 6. DVDXCOPY SUCKS 7. The systems that I found using DVD Decrypter, DVD2One, and Nero on this forum works for me and I should not fix something that is working for me. 8. My so called friend that claims that +R can be re-burned is talking through his A-Hole. 9. My A-Hole friend is most likely giving me info on PS2 backups using +R and has no knowledge of DVD backups. 10. I should instruct my so called friend to visit afterdawn.com to get an education from this forum. One last question has anyone tried CloneDVD? Does it rock like is forum? Thanks again to everyone!!!!!!!!
Bang on , apart from no.5 You can only re-author a DVD-RW (or +RW) , a re-writable disc. You might want to not finalize your DVD+RW (-RW) if you're looking to add files etc... Yes , do suggest to friend to visit http://forums.afterdawn.com ! He might find out some info he previously didn't ; )
With no5. You can edit a DVD you have already burnt if you copy it to your hard drive, edit it and then burn to a new disc. If thats what you meant!
On #5 it was about reauthoring the DVD but the other example was just as fine. So the +R is just like -R when you burn it that's it! A RW is the way to go with "editing" or "re-authoring"! Thanks for the info! I'll leave the DVDXCOPY and DVDClone questions to the proper forums. Thanks again! All of you ROCK! Except my A-Hole friend?!
He was trying to speak from his word to me and has failed! I'll take experience over youth any day! Thanks again!!
