    Hi people,
I am a DVD burning newbie and I throw myself on your mercy. I think I may have already worked out the answer to this myself but it would be great if somebody could just confirm this for me. I have recently acquired a dvd-r drive. I haven't yet been able to get it to burn any dvd's as any of the burning programs I use wont regognise any media in the drive. I'm using DVD+R discs. Did I buy the wwrong type? Will my drive only burn onto DVD-R discs? Call me thick....call me stupid....just 'call' me!

    You got it...
DVD-R drives need DVD-R/RW media. A few drives out there can accept both (particularly from SONY), but the majority are limited strictly to +R or -R.
Get a few -R discs (and don't buy the cheapest thing you can find, as quality matters)and let us know how it works...
