DVD-RAM drive properties

    Not sure if this is the right forum for this question and I apologize if it isn't...

    I am playing around with my DVD burner properties...under the recording tab I have enabled cd-recording on the drive so that I can just drag and drop photos to the drive and copy photos with Windows XP...my question is whether or not this will affect backing up DVD's (with Shrink and Nero)...do I have to disable this option every time before I back up DVD's?
