I cannot run rebuilder 0.53 because I get a warning "runtime error 5 - invalid procedure call or
argument". The version 0.48 runs well. Can anybody help me?

You're not running Win98 are you? I've seen a few posts about this error on Doom9 and the only common fact that I've noticed is that many (or maybe all) of the people with this error are running Windows 98 for their OS and were able to run previous versions fine.

I'm betting that it would solve the problem, but I wouldn't want to say for sure. It seems like this is probably a case of Windows 98 being the problem though. In any case I recommend using either 2000 or XP over 98 anyway. I find them to be by far the most reliable versions of Windows that Micro$haft has ever sold.

Edit: I was planning to contact jdobbs this week regarding a question I have on my latest guide rewrites so I'll make sure to mention your problem in case he hasn't noticed the apparent Win98 issue.

No, it's not just an issue on Win 98, I run WinME and I'm getting the exact same message while version 049 is still working fine. I guess I'll try version 052 if I can find it...

Version 0.52 has the same runtime error. Maybe the next version can fix this issue.

If it's on Win98 and WinME that's pretty much the same thing. Both of those are just newer versions of Windows 95 and therefore DOS based, whereas XP is Windows NT so I'm pretty sure I'm right. I got a PM back from jdobbs on Doom9 about this and he said it's probably a piece of code he added in .50 so I don't expect any version after that to work for either OS just yet. If anybody needs 0.49 for now who doesn't have it, PM me with your email address and I'll send it to you. I'll also see if Ketola can put the older version up again so anyone else who wants it can get it.
