Why are most DVD recorders only able to use the -R media
and not the +R media. I have looked at many brands, such
as Toshiba, Panasonic, JVC, etc and all say they work
with -R media. Is there a recommendation from this group
on a DVD Recorder that will record on the +R media.
    Thanks, Zeide

The Sont RDRGX300 burns all 4 formats including +Rs. I've seen it for as low as $299.

Hey vatsim5,never heard of a sont rdrgx300 aye?Very popular in poland aye! Just kidding, I think dogbomb meant sony, lol. The dual format is the way I am going when my home recorder fries.More flexibility of playing those dvd's on other stand alones. What is your particular question about why you want + format only?I have a cheap cyberhome dvd + home recorder. It does everything I want it to do.I look at wal-mart and they are about 50/50 on either formats. The + and - does not have that much difference. The main thing in any dvd burning is to use high quality media. This takes care of a lot of problems.Later aye!

... I have a LiteOn LVW-5005 that records video on DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-R, DVD-RW and will ever record SVCD and VCD on CD-R discs ... If you want to hook a turntable and record your records onto a CD-R or even hook a cassette deck up to it and transfer a cassette onto CD-R ... this machine can do it ... It's available on-line for less than $200 (US) ...

Sounds like the type of DVD Recorder I want. Thanks so
much for the information. Is LiteOn a reputable brand?
I live in Canada so maybe I can find a retailer here that
sells your recommendation. Thanks again, Zeide.
