When I try to play a DVD+R/RW that I have recorded on my new tosh, I sometimes get a split display (the movie displayed twice on the TV screen).
You talking about a stand-alone recorder here? or a DVD Drive, if its the Standalone, then its definately a hardware problem and there's probably nort much more you can do than try alternative media or refer to manuals you got with it. If its a DVD Drive, there are other possibilitys such as what programs you are using to Author!
Thanks for the reply. It was a stand alone TOSH SX-32, also a cyberhome 1500 has done the same thing also a new jvc dvd player makes strange noises and will not recognice the disk at all. The dual images on the TV come from an old Pioneer high end DVD player. I am begining to think it mabe a copy protection problem, but I am using a clarifier with s-video cables. Thanks again
ye that it could be, dvd stand alone recorders were made to record primarily off tv, not from other dvd's
Hello all......I have a problem and havent found it talked about in any other forums. This is the most similar. BUt I have been copying my movies for a while now and consider myself and expert. BUt for some reason I noticed that when I put my copied movies in my dvd drive on my computer, it doesnt notice that I even put a disk in the drive at all. I dont know what I have done and im kind of stumped. Only thing that I have done to my computer is format and reinstall the operationg system. And Ive done that several times. I use to never have this problem. I use all kinds of DVD Media, like Ritek, memorex, verbatum, but I get the same issue. I have to make sure about the memorex though. Im copying my movies with DVD shrink and burning them with Nero. Thanks in advance........ Windows ME 160GB WD HD 512MB DDR pioneer 106d
To gkmpb4: Your problem might be that at one time or another you've chosen to open certain type files from CD or DVD when you insert them into your computer. To reset this option, open My Computer and right click on the removeble drive and view the settings in the autoplay tab. You might want to set it so that it always prompts you to select the action to take each time you insert media into the drive. Hope this helps.
