I hope I am in the right forum. I made a DVD a few years ago. It plays OK on the standalone DVD player. A friend wanted a copy of it and when I tried to copy it, the DVD player/recorder is unable to copy the files as it appears that some VOB files are corrupted due to ?scratches / read errors. I tried it on 4 different makes of computers and they all reported same problem. If a standalone player can play it, why not a computer DVD? Is there some way I can feed the digital output from the standalone player to the computer? I know I can take the Video output and capture it. Then the quality will suffer.I tried DVD recovery tools which was of no help. Any suggestions appreciated.
Insert the disk and run DVD Decrypter. Mode > File Save the output to a folder. If it fails, under Tools > Settings and the I/O tab, check the box for 'Ignore read errors' and try ripping again. http://www.videohelp.com/tools/DVD_Decrypter
