dvd region changing

Goday all

has anyone ever heard of changing region on a dvd player by take the physical drive out of the set top and connectng it to their pc's to change the region

There are easier ways than that to do it! and no ive never heard of anyone trying it that way before. What is the make and model of player you want to make region free?

 

gday berty the make is a topcon Etop-xdr , it has a ricoh pa7040 dvd writer in it.

may be just too old of a unit, i searched too, no luck !
