As near as I can figure out, my DVD+R's are no longer finalizing, and I cannot read them in any PC drive or stand alone player. I am using a Dell NEC ND-1100A burner, with the most recent firmware. After trying various recommended Nero burning settings (UDF, ISO, etc.), I found that only the Nero DVD-Video setting worked, and created a couple of DVDs that played fine in all my players and PCs. However, one day, this process stopped working - DVD's spin and spin and spin as though they are not finalized!! The only drive that can now read these DVDs is my burner. I'm using the same box of TDK media that created the initial successful DVDs. I also tried using MovieFactory 2.0 to create a DVD, and at the 99% completion point when it was "fixating the DVD", the burn process failed. I can read the failed DVD in the burner, but no where else (again, same problem, the DVD spins and spins as though not finalized). I have no problem with DVD+RW's - they burn successfully and can be read in the PC drive. Unfortunately, my players can't ready the RW's (and being an NEC 1100A burner, I can't change the bitsetting - but that's another story!!). Could this be a hardware problem? Any thoughts are appreciated!! Thank you!
Try setting the target file size down just a little. I've read somewhere that sometimes Nero has troubles finalizing a disc if it is written too full. Don't know if it helps in your case but you could give it a try.
