I have 2 dvd rw drives on my pc.(sony dvd rw dw-d22a and an LG GSA-1467B.(windows XP). Both have been working fine until yesterday when i booted up, both drives now show up in 'My Computer' as CD drives not DVD RW drives! I cannot write to the drives! I have tried the usual: 1) uninstall the drivers and then let xp install them again (still show as Cd drives) 2) disconnect the drives, reboot, connect the drives, reboot (still show as CD drives) I use Ashampoo Buring studio. Anybody help?
Dude, I feel for you, only when I have put in a blank DVD in the burner, it shows as a CD drive. I cant burn anymore, what's really weird is that I have an external LG also, and the computer won't recocnize the blank I put in it. Makes me wonder if it is not the burners, but some kind of deep internal computer something. If you find out something, please, please let me know...thanks.
