I just recently formatted my computer and also bought a new dvd burner, the nec nd-3540. Before I put the new burner in, I just installed windows with this egenric old cd-writer that i had in my computer before i formatted. this worked compeltely fine without installing any drivers. then i shut down my computer, swapped that drive out for the new burner and turned the computer back on and this is the error i'm getting: Verifying DMI Pool Data ......... Boot from CD: NVIDIA Boot Agent 197.0402 Copyright (C) 2001-2003 nVIDIA CORPORATION Copyright (C) 1997-2000 Intel Corporation PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable PXE-MOF: Exiting nVIDIA boot agent. DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSET SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER does anyone know what the problem is? the reason i and only using the one drive is because my IDE cable is not long enough to connect them both, i think. so right now it's only the dvd-burner connected. thanks in advance.
what ide port is the drive attached to as in primary or secondary? what is the drive jumpered as in master, slave or cable select?
