My Philips DVDR890 fails to play back DVR-RW disks. It plays DVD-R disks and the manual supports playback of DVD-R/DVD-RW. I have tried several DVD-RW brands, but to no effect. Both DVD-R and DVD-RW disks have been created using a Pioneer A04 DVD-RW Writer (External FIrewire). Comments gratefully appreciated.
go to www.vcdhelp.com and look up your dvd player to see if there are helpful comments on the player. I have a phillips 850 and it plays svcd great but won't play vcd's unless i make them on cd-rw..cdr's just freeze up.
