I have copied Dvd movies successfully to DvD+RW media (Packard Bell & Verbatim) but when I try and play them on Toshiba stand alone, Sony DVD home cinema and Grundig home cinema it won't recognize the discs. However they will play on a stand alone Philips DVD Recorder. Why is this happening?
Hi there, Ste2004 - Welcome to our little Club - The vast majority of standalones don't play RW discs - You'll have to burn a single write DVD in order to play it. Just make sure if you have an older model player you'll have to check to see what type of media it plays (+R or -R). The newer model players will play "Papa John's Pizza". Any othr questions, feel free to ask - cheers, Pete
Thanks! What are Papa John Pizzas? I tried 1 DVD+R but it played ok for first 20 minutes then when bad and finally it wouldn't play at all. Any ideas?
Hey stee, need more info. What software are you using to copy? Try copy on one or more drives. Papa John's Pizza is the best pizza on earth. That would be a joke Pete was making. Hogan
I am using DVD Shrink and then Nero to burn on DVD+RW but they won't play on stand alone DVD player. I tried a DVD+R today but that won't play either but they will still play on Philips DVD Recorder stand alone.
Right - that was explained. ??? "that won't play either" - Ok, it won't play. "they will still play on Philips DVD Recorder stand alone." - Ok, it will play ?? What is it, it will or it won't play ??? Did you check to see if your standalone players will play +R media ? Older players only play -R. Read your mfg specs booklet - to see what it says - Pete
