Have you changed anything in your process, especially disk type? Will your drive read other disks just fine? Have you tried deleting the device driver for said drive and then rebooting the system?

Go to your "Control Panel" ==> "Device Manager" and then scroll down to "DVD/CD ROM Drives" and locate the drive in question. Right click on it and select "Properties." Then from within the pop-up click on the on the "Driver" tab and then the "Uninstall" button. Once completed, re-boot your PC and allow Windows to complete the installation process. Hopefully, this will help.
However, based on your last post regarding the fact that it will burn cd's but not dvd's, I would be on the hunt for a new burner as it is prolly on its last leg. It requires more laser power for dvd than cd burning.

Restart your computer. Windows will recognize it as a new device and perform the necessary steps.
