Hi.... I have a dvd that is 4.3 Gb in size. Compressed at 95 and the ratdvd file is 1.02 Gb Compressed at 130 and the ratdvd file is 2.3 Gb After decompressing the 1.02 Gb file back to DVD, the size is 3.05 Gb. After decompressing the 2.3 Gb file back to DVD, the size is 3.8 Gb. So, the question is: Why aren't the files of equal size after decompressing?. How do I get the same 4.3 Gb, at 150?. By the way, image is very good on both. Thanks for a great program and excuse my poor english. Luis
basically what it amounts to is a few things...first off, the audio, depending on what you tell ratdvd to do, may be compressed some, or in some cases, such as movies with audio tracks in like...4 languages, you can even drop the excessive languages...thats one part of the reason, the other part is because the video is compressed, when decompressing it back to dvd format, basically it scans the ratdvd file and does everything in its power to make it as close as possible in the dvd format as to what it was in the ratdvd format...the small quality loss from compressing the dvd to ratdvd will never be fully regained.
