    I'm a newbie, and recently made my first DivX using the guide on this site. It turned out pretty good, but subsequent attempts using various combinations of filters on Virtualdub have been more successful. I guess which/how many filter you use is a personal preference.

    For making DiVx recordings, go to www.doom9.org and download Auto GK (Gordian Knot)and it will do most of the work for you.
