I am using Ultra Ipod Video Coverter, and DVD Shrink to try and put DVD's into my Ipod.

One of my problems is when i use DVD shrink, it creates seperate VOB files. Each 0.99 GB each. There would be like 2 or 3 each of them containing parts of the movie. How do you get them into one file?

The other problem is the compression with DVD Shrink. I jst recently used it to put House of flying daggers into the hard drive. Before DVD shrink it was 7.95 GB. After it was around 4. Next, i put in Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Before it was 4.23, after it was still around 4 GB. How come there isnt a substantial amount of compression with some movies, because i have also tried some star wars, and freaky friday, and they all still clock in around 4.

Also, when you guys compress (convert) videos, how much do you get the size around to?

Hi man in dvd shrink go to edit then click preferences go to output files and untick the box that says split vob files into 1gb,dvd shrink is a great tool and compresses very well but when dvds are say lower than 5gb there isnt too much there for it to shrink its compression works best with say 7gb dvds. For dvd to ipod I use dvd decrypter as its quicker and generally quicker imo

This is a very good guide here for dvd to ipod

ok im using tht guide now, where its tlking about DVD Decrypter and Videora.

U said tht using DVD Decrypter was a faster method. I have the video file in Videora right now, how long will it take to convert? Its already 1 hr and 45 mins. in, and it says 100% with the time remaining at -28.

How long does it usually take for you?

Also, im assuming tht the videos go in ur ipod at 4 GB's right?

Converting a video takes a long time. The timer on Videora bugs out on some peoples computers for who knows what reason. The video will be much smaller than 4 gigs because it is compressed to a size playable on your iPod, your looking at something more like 1/2 a gig depending on length, bitrate, resolution, et cetera...

So just be patient and try not to use your computer for anything else while the video's converting as it slows the process down immensely.

Just hang tight the program vidoera did the same thing to me it stopped at -28 seconds if you are patient it will work. The files end up at around 700 meg depending on what settings you use. Good luck
