If you are looking for something free, then you will have to do it in 2 steps. Get DVD Decrypter and Videora iPod converter. They are both free, and once you rip with Decrypter you can convert with Videora and into iTunes. If you want a one step software, try something like PQ DVD, Cucusoft, or Xilisoft iPod Converters.
No, the freeware will need 2 step, first rip dvd to vob, then convert vob to mp4...but none of them works every time.

For FREE 20 days, I'd use Slysoft's DvdMobile and AnyDVD. They are cheap enough too if you want to purchase them.

or you can go the free way and use handbrake you can get it at www.handbrake.m0k.org this software works on mac, linux, and now windows I highly recommend it.
