A friend gave me a DVD that has music on it but is in the form of a DVD (Audio and Video folders). It can be played in a DVD player and each song is chapter so you can fast forward through the disk.

Is there any way to convert each song to MP3 so I can archive them on my hard drive??

    Thanks

Is this a DVD-Audio disk (the audio files are in the 'AUDIO_TS' folder in PCM format) or a DVD movie disk (the files are in the VIDEO_TS folder, listed as VOB files).

If it's a DVD-Audio disk the PCM files can be extracted and converted to .wav using 'DVD-Audio Explorer'.

If it's normal DVD, then DVD Decrypter can demux each chapters audio .ac3 stream to separate files.

In either case the audio could be converted to mp3 using other tools.

Another member (I'm sorry. I don't remember who it was) suggested the following program on a different thread. I haven't tried it myself but look here:
