I'm backing up a single vob file joined from a DVD with vobjoiner. The xvid encode goes fine but the avi file is several minutes shorter than the original mpeg2 file. Naturally, the audio is way out of sync. The source file is 29.97 according to vdubmod, yet when played with mplayer classic, ffdshow reflects a (variable) speed of about 25 frames per second. The encoded avi, however, naturally reads out 29.97. Could this be a header issue? What to do? Thanks.
Instead of joining the vob's together, why don't you use something like AutoGK, and point it to the IFO file. It will then put the pieces together on the fly.
