My kids bought me an Audiovox Surround Sound DVD System two Christmas' ago which didn't cost much and has all sorts of kinks now . . . including the fact that I can't get the DVD tray to open and one of my brand new DVD's is inside. I emailed Audiovox support but they want $30 to take a look plus I have to package it and ship it and the set-up probably only cost $50 anyway . . . Anyone know any tricks? I have unplugged it . . . pushed the open button along with each of the others . . .tried to pry it with a knife while pushing the open tray button . . . yada yada yada . . .Model Number: STS25E-B . . . Also, I was hoping that once I trash the machine I might be able to utilize the speakers with another player . . . they do not have RCA plugs though as the wires are color coded and fit into specific slots in the back of the DVD player. Any ideas? The next DVD player I have inherited only has the RCA plugs and S-Video . . . ? Thanks for the input . . .
I have the same DVD system and have the same problem with it. I too, was hoping to find a comparable system so that I could keep the speakers. What did you find out about yours?
