I just finished working my way through the VCD to DVD tutorial at http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/vcd_to_dvd-r.cfm and was upset to see that it ends without any instructions for actually putting the videos onto a DVD. I've got about 10 videos I'm wanting to combine into a VCD DVD. Can someone point me to a tutorial or website that can explain how to do it to a dummy (like me)? I've got DVD Lab, as the tutorial said it could do what I'm looking for. Thanks in advance for your help! James
Sorry but I`m not quite sure what you want to do. (Maybe I`m the dummy !) Do you want to convert files and burn them to DVD ?
Here's how I put VCD (bin/cue) to DVD. First, get Isobuster (free) and extract mpegav to mpg: http://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=141726 I thought the audio would need reencoding but didn't. Then, simply author and burn. I am not familar with DVD Lab but any authoring program should do this with menues. I didn't look too close but I see the guide you mention says Ulead Moviefactory won't work but that's all I've ever used with this method I gave you for authoring, menues and burning.
Thanks! PAD48: I've read in several places that there are ways to put many hours of VCD compliant video onto a DVD. For example, 7.5 is mentioned here: http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=TMPGEnc_DVD_Author. I believe I've seen upwards of 10 hours mentioned elsewhere. I've never been able to find a way to do that though. :-( I've got TV shows I DVRed with my PC and want to burn them to DVD to free up space. If I can get a season on one or two DVDs instead of 5 to 9 that would be great.
