Hi. I've been making dvd videos on my pc for a while and had no problems, whether i am using Power2Go, Adobe Encore, Dvd Shrink, etc. But just recently when ever i've tried to make a dvd, it fails. It doesn't even transcode the video. On Power2Go, when i click burn, it starts up and then say fails straight away, then ejects the disc and comes up with a few errors such as wrong format and such. I mainly use this program as i've never had a problem burning any video before on it. Thinking it might just be the file, i tried another, but i got the same problem, so i tried Encore, and same again with multiple files, including files i have written before. I've tried every bit of software i have but have had no luck. I've then tried the file and a few others on my old pc and they work and burn fine ( apart from it takes 3 times longer but it gets it done). I haven't installed any new software for about 3 or so weeks, but the problem has only just started in the last week or so. I have a Sony DVD RW AW-G170A drive with the newest drivers installed. Any help would be appreciated as i'm a bit worried as the pc is only just over a year old.
Are you using same disks as before or you have new batch? It sounds like your writer does not like the disk.
Well i have been using the same dvds i always use, but i tried a few different brands just to test that out as well. But as it doesn't even get to the actual burning stage at the moment, it's when it transcodes, or even adds the file to the project that it either crashes or fails.
I think i've solved my problem. I uninstalled all my codecs and then updated them to the newest set. I have a dvd burning now, which has actually encoded and burning, so i think one of my codecs must of be faulty. I've had my codecs failing programs before but never to this scale where i couldn't burn a dvd. hope this helps anyone else who gets the same problem.
