Did I waste 40 dollars on buying this product, it seems its nothing but a guide to downloading freeware and shareware to burn DVD's with. It seems I could have done the same by coming here and doing some research. What is the best software to use to capture VHS so I can burn it to DVD?

You did waste $40. A bunch of companies out there bundle up freeware and sell it as their own package. As far as VHS to DVD, not sure. I would be interested in the answer though.

Seems like that would be illegal.

You would think. I believe because its freeware and has no copyrights that they can do that. Its not right though.
