I am not a newbie to making backups but a newbie to the forum. I can get them all to work in my home DVD but the player in the car has been tough. I tried DVD - and + and many software with no luck. In the car it says invalid disc format. My question is: Should I be focusing on the type of media or the software to create it?
some of the dvd players in cars can be picky with burnt dvd's, you might try going to dvdhelp.com and type in the model number of your dvd player and it will tell you what type of media it will or will not play
I called Mercedes and looked all over the player and it doesnt show a brand. They said it was made for them.. I do have a book and it says it will play +r or -r...
What kind of software are you using? The reason why I ask: I learned that DVD player's can/cannot play certain media disks like +/- OF CDR'S and DVD disks. Also with the software you are using....You could less say make a custom dvd of bunch of random videos. Well they are AVI. Will the DVD player play AVI? Im still somewhat understanding this whole concept cause it's a big pain. I don't remember the site by hand or anything, but maybe someone will reply to this, but there is a site you can look up all dvd players made possible by manufacturers and you just look up the brand name and type in the model number and it will tell you what disks media it will take and formats it will play. The problem I hate coming across....Is Im a big fan of torrent clients( it's like p2p, but better) to download movies like..."Transformers". I get it view it on the pc...it works great...Im all pumped....I run my dvd software to burn the image (CloneDVD 2)....success....put it in my dvd player....works great!...take it to a buddies house and he gets all pumped up about it cause I tell him about the awesome quality it's in and the sound....pop it in and grab the soda's turn the surround sound on....and wait for the annoying logo to go away....and nothing. Thank god he had his Xbox 360 cuz it played fine. Sorry for all that, but I know what your problem is and I hope it helps anyway. I can help more if you gave me more info.
I used many types of software I tried a whole bunch to see if they where any different. I use Clone DVD regularly. I used Shrink/Decryp/ I used DecrypFab, I used DVD2One, There was 1 more but I cant remember what it was. They all said the Invalid Disk.. I also tried 4 types of media disks. I am clueless as to why..
