BEEN trying to burn and play vcds. avis downloaded from internet, avi converted w/avi2vcd-decompressed if needed,pcm/mpg burned w/nero 6.0 and/or DUP-DVD. Resulting vcd excellent quality, plays w/nero show time, windows media player,Real pleyer,Windvd, etc, etc, etc, on PC.,but will not play w/toshiba dvd player. Exploring vcd i find cdi entry that states,"can't install trap handler". I have successfully copied dvds to vcds that play in dvd player. As far as i can tell the cdi entries is the only difference between the avi to vcd, and the dvd to vcd conversions. What am i dong incorrectly? Can this problem be resolved or am i just wasting my time and hard drive space? Please help me ! ! ! ! ! looking forward 2 u com-bak,10-4 p.clemens/
Well the Encodeing Software you are useing is so old and Outdated and total Crap...AVI2VCD hasn"t been used in years and when it was used it was still considered Crap...Try encodeing your AVI files to VCD useing a Real Mpeg encoder, Even Tmpgenc would be a Big step up in Quality...and after encodeing to VCD you just Burn the Files to CD-R in VCD Mode with something like Nero....
thanx for the heds-up re. avi-vcd. it's w/nero i get cdi log entry "can't install trap handler." real question is what exactly is trap handler?
If you Got rid of AVI2VCD you wouldn"t have to worry about it....The Only Trap Handler I know is the Guy that sets the MuskRat Traps down at the Old River...
