Your transfer mode may be in pio mode. A nero log file will show this if you can post one. Go into device manager/ide-ata/atapi controllers, open up the tree. You'll see your primary and secondary-there may be 2 of each. Double click one of them-primary for example/click advanced settings tab,and look at the transfer mode. Make sure it says DMA,UDMA,If available. Make sure it doesn't say PIO. Do the same to the rest of the controllers. If any of them says pio mode, then click drivers tab, uninstall controller, and reboot. If more than 1 channel in pio mode, uninstall 1 controller and reboot-1 channel at a time. Here's some more info: http://www.dvdplusvideo.com/dvdguide005.html Even if device manager tells transfer mode is ok,you can still uninstall each controller. Sometimes windows can revert you back and forth without. Shaking pc? Maybe a corrupted installation of windows? Got enough powersupply? I've seen crappy PS's do some strange things.
thanks for the reply but i checked it ..it is DMA mode only..plz say how to take the log file and attach here..i wil do it..thanks in advance
wow cool thanks a lot i changed it to DMA if available and now its working properly..1gb it took almost 2mins is it normal?..nway thanks a lot its better than before ..thank you
It depends on how fast you set it. I very rarely burn anything under 3.5 gbs. Rough estimate: 4.38 gbs: 4x is around 15-17 mins.8x around 8 mins.12x-6-7 mins. Lately,my main pc has been burning slow when I slap in a sonyD16 blanks-happened a couple times.I Set it for 8x and took over 20-25 mins to burn. Even though my DMA's said they were ok, I uninstalled them anyway, rebooted, and back to normal 8 mins burn time. Nero log file: c:\program files\ahead\nero\nerohistory.log Once you open up nerohistory, the 1st log should be your last burn. There will be many more logs after that.Highlight the log, paste it back into the next post, but edit out the serial number on top.The serial # will look like: 1A20-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx You could try posting the last log and an older log.
