Disc Manufacturer ID: CMC MAG, Media Type ID: M01, these disc suck and come in many forms, things you say piont to bad media, try verbatim or TY could try a firmware update to drive!
Going to agree with Rotary here. Nasty media. CMC MAG is el cheapo disgusting media...you're better off making a mobile for a baby's crib with those discs. Use the good stuff Rotary mentioned. Check here for a firmware update for your burner. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/genericDocument?cc=us&docname=lpg40607&lc=en Post back and let us know how it goes.
Hello guys thank you for the anwers. I went and bought Verbatim media and Voila!!! I thought the driver was making a funny noise but no, it burned just fine the photos. My question is how come cds and dvds stop working all the sudden? I mean, I bought these cds at Costco and they burned fine with my old TEAC CDRom, then I got a BenQ dvd burner that died 3 times and could hardly burn anything and now I got this brand new HP drive, it burned the cheapo stuff with no problem and all the sudden puff!It can not burn any TDK media. Are they different batches in one lot of dvds? Does anybody bother to buy anything else than Verbatim or TY? They offer everywhere Memorex, Sonys, TDK and Fujitsu brands and for what I have heard they ALL suck!! I went to the HP site and downloaded the drive recognition tool, everytime I want to use it it restarts the computer but I see no information, where could I find the information this tool found? Is it not a little risky to update the firmaware of your drive? I was reading all these posts of driver dying after being flashed. Thanks for all your help! Andres
