Do you guys have any suggestions. The PC is an HP Pavillion with a dvd/cd writer on the top with a cd drive on the bottom. I Burn just fine with what I have, I just like the Lightscribe technology. Is this a good writer? Are there better for the price? Any sites to shop cheaper? Will I ever use the dual layer? What will the dual layer do?

iam sure HP doesnt make the burner its probably rebadged something?? for that money i would get a Plextor PX-716A same price as the HP or a little less expensive online like at http://www.newegg.com others to consider are BenQ ,LG ,Liteon ,NEC all are good burners

you may use DL thats up to you a single layer burner compress a DVD-9(8.5gig) to a DVD-5 (4.7gig) with DL you wont have any compress its 1 to 1 backup, great for larger files (long movies)
