Have a Panasonic LFD-311 and DVD X Copy and DVD X Copy Express. Tried copying the movie "Standing in The SHadows of Motown" with Copy. First disc plays only the backup screen - second disc plays perfectly. I try DVDXCopy Express. It reads the movie but then comes up with an Error Writing Disc. It copies the movie then cancels. The movie will not play. DVDXCopy has worked well on all movies till Motown. DVDXCopy Express will not work - Error Writing Disc. I want to backup my movies on 1 disc if possible. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

I have exactly the same setup as you with Panasonic LFD-311 burner. The error writing to disc also appears on my screen however if you move the warning to one side and do not click OK Ifind that the movie will continue to write successfully. I hope this is of some assistance and that the same happens on your system.

    Regards

I dont think it is the drive because I have the same problem with my Sony DRU500-AX. I still have not got mine to work I am working with the tech support people to try and figure out the problem.

gill , if it happens at regular intervals ie every five mins try to find out what happens on your pc everyfive mins or what ever matches the time frame . for example if your outlook email checks the net every 5 mins for new email you will need to close outlook when you burn . check your updates settings for windows auto update and things like that antivirus etc.
ALSO try playing the first few seconds of the movie in your pc . then close your pc/dvd player . then open your xcopy program
