I just bought a Cen Dyne DVD+RW burner. It's a _NEC DVD+RW ND-1100A. I got DVD X Copy Platinum and the first movie I burned was my copy of "U-Turn" (great movie if you haven't seen it) on a DVD+RW that came with the drive. It worked just fine and didn't need to be compressed. This past weekend however,I bought 100 Imation brand DVD+R's and I attempted to make a copy of "Naquoqatsi" which is a 7.98 GB movie, so it had to use compression. The read process works just fine, but once it gets to the burning process, sometime during it, I get the XP "blue screen of death" and my computer reboots. The first time it happened, It came with an error message that said "MEMORY_MANAGEMENT" I think. Then I tried copying it again and I got the blue screen again without the MEMORY_MANAGEMENT error during the writing process. I decided to try a different movie. So I started to make a copy of "Red v.s. Blue Season 1" which needed no compression. Sure enough i got the blue screen again. So I'm not sure whether it is my burner, the media I'm using, the program or what. And I can't find any firmware upgrades for the drive. Can anybody help me out with this problem??
caboose, Just checking recommended media for your drive and I don't find Imitation brand listed as being compatible with your burner - check it out -http://meritline.com/dvd-r-media-4-dvd-burner-recorder.html#10. Somewhere there might be a better list - try your mfg. listings ā āPā
Well, I just tried using DVD Shrink and it works very well and I like it better than DVD X Copy. Nothing big, but when I was burning a DVD Shrink created image of "Reservoir Dogs" in Nero, It worked 3 out of 5 times, with the failed results ending up with a blue screen error which I think said "IRQL_LESS_OR_NOT_EQUAL" or something like that. But this hasn't become a major problem yet so I'm not really too concerned. But can anyone shed some light on this as well?
