I own a purchased copy of DVD X Copy Platinum Ver. 4.0.3.8. My computer crashed recently , but we recovered the programs on the hard drive. When trying to start this program I am directed to activate the program on line and need to enter my ID # and password. When I do this I get an error message that I am being rejected by the server. I contacted tech support and they gave me some tips but none of them worked. Any suggestions. Too bad, this program was working 99% of the time and made beautiful backups of my DVDs.
You stated you recovered the programs after a crash. Did you try to un-install Xcopy and then do a fresh install? The recovered program could be corrupt causing the activation to error out. Jerry
Thanks, but no luck. I uninstalled DVD X copy and reinstalled from the original CD, but it won't let me reactivate online with my ID # and password. Registration rejected by the server is the error message I am getting. Should I buy a new CD of this program from one of the vendors listed on the web and try to activate those or are all activations dead?
I think activations on the older ripper versions are dead. I haven't tried to install my Express version since I reformated because I don't use it anyway. From what I have read, you e-mail 321 with your old activation numbers and ask for new numbers for the ripper free version. You can then download that version, patch it with the ripper patch and it will work just like the old version. Jerry
This is from the dvdxcopy forum: From this thread: http://dvdxcopy.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/95296 No ... I've been told to give up on 321 products. As of August 1 you should see everything go south. You can give it a try, getting RF, but I would do it soon. _X_X_X_X_X_[small]Dell 8250, Pentium 4 2.80GHz 1.5 GB RDRAM, 200GB HD TDK 840G, Sony DDU-1612 DVD-ROM XP Pro, ATI All-In-Wonder 9000 Pro[/small]
