I'm not really a newbie as I've been backing up dvd's for a while now but this is probably a newbie question. I've been using DVD X copy that I purchased legally before they were required to remove the ripper from the product. It works flawlessly and I love it but I just purchased a new Pioneer DVR-A07XLA 8X burner and I'm not sure if DVD X Copy supports this new drive? Is there any way to get an update for DVD X copy or another way around the problem while still using DVD X copy? I used to copy the hard way using DVD Decrypter and ifoedit and I'd rather not go back! Thanks!
Hi TeddyKGB, Glad you could join our little Club - First of all, DVD Shrink with Nero or DVD Decrypter is much better than DVD Decrypter and IFOEdit - Second, you'll have to uninstall your DVD XCopy then reinstall it in order for the drive selection screen to come up - and yes, it recognizes new drives, I just did mine for my Pioneer 107 - cheers, Pete
You don't need it to reconize the drive. Just use DVDxcopy as before and when it asks you to insert blank disc. Go to your temp folder and move the DVDxcopy folder into you C:\ using Windows explorer. then open Nero or what ever DVD burning software you might have and burn the Video and Audio folders to the Disc. Your done and this will work with any burner.
Thanks both of you. I actually found the drive selector in the program folder and rand it from there so it's working fine now. Question #2 is how can I get DVD X copy to utilize the max drive speed? It still appears to be burning at the speed of the old drive (1X), it's also reading at the speed the old drive was reading at? Thanks again!
