I am not real computer smart but I do know that 321 Studios went under. Now I can not make backups of the movies I just bought. I like making a backup due to my two dogs.On that note I tried to use a crack for one version I have. It works up until the point of when I put my dvd in and then it tells me that the disk is write protected. Then just shuts off. How can I get around this? Is there another software that will do the same thing as the old dvd x copy and copy dvd for dvd?

Thanks for you time and help.

Try using programs like Anydvd and Clone dvd2 at
    http://www.slysoft.com/en/
these work about 95 percent of the time. However you only get a 30 day trial.

Two free programs are Skrink and Dvd decryptor.

@MinGry03, if you want to stay in the free realm, then I would suggest downloading shrink from AD. It's free and when using the advance analysis and deep encoding the quality is guite good. I used that for a while, along with Dvd Decrypter. Over the year I have made an investment into a variety of programs that I use:
    1. Dvd Rebuilder Pro/CCE Basic or HC by HAnks
    2. Recode 2 from Neo (the same author of shrink)
    3. clonedvd 2
    4. Intervideo Copy 3
    5. AnyDvd running in the background. There is a program that is free called Dvd43 that runs in the background, but IO had problems with it.

I also have Dvd Decrypter and Dvd Fab Decrypter. Which I use to decrypt the movie and place the video files on HD to be used by Rebuilder, or I will use Dvd Remake Pro or Recode and pull off excess credits to lessen teh compression prior to Rebuilder.

There is a lot of programs out there that do good work, just download trial versions and see what works with you.
