Hi! I just got this DVD Xpress and whenever I click on the DVD Xpress icon a window appears:

    Notice!!! Notice!!!
    Check for updates
    Click "More Ifo"

Then I click more info and it sends me to the afterdawn website which what is displayed on that website doesn't help me at all.

Then there's another option to download.
When I click on download this appears...
    C:\Documen-1\Gwendo-1\Locals-1\Temp\32143.exe
The NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal instruction
    CS: 0dc2 IP:0115 OP:63 6b 20 4f 72
    choose CLOSE to terminate....

    Hi Gwen,

To add on to what binkie7 stated dvd xpress is no longer updated and will not work with discs that have comeout in the last year or so with new protection. Be sure to visit the links binkie7 provided as you will see software that is updated to handle the latest encryptions and best of all they are free. Good luck.

Thank you guys! Well, I downloaded AnyDVD and I'm able to copy now. The thing is it's only free of a month so what do you think? Do I really need this?

    Hi again gwen,

Yes I would highly recommend purchasing this along with the combo of clonedvd2. There is a thread http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/298284 which explains how you can receive a discount. Money well spent and if you type anydvd or clonedvd2 in the search area at the top of the page the vast majority of afterdawn users have and continue to have great success with these products.

If you purchased it online I woulkd suggest you submit an email back to the company from which you purchased it. If you purchased from a local retailer I'm pretty sure most will not give you a refund for open software only an even exchange. In any case being that 321 studios (the original company) is no longer in business try the above methods I mentioned. Also I suggest trying over at the dvdxcopy forums to see if one of the moderators over there may be able to assist you in this matter. Worth a try and they are helpful if they are able to.

Forgot to mention in regards to blank media use this thread http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/262544 as it has lots of info on the blank media that is available on the market today. I would say if you are purchasing memorex change your brand to something like verbatim (found in most retail shops that sell blank dvd media).

Also in regards to anydvd and clonedvd2. Once you decide (if you have not already done so) save your registration keys in a safe place in case you have to do a fresh install. Also you receive lifetime updates with anydvd and I believe up to a year with clonedvd2 (please note there has not been too many updates for clonedvd2 so the program is excellent). Anydvd updates regularly with the latest encryption/ protection to come out with the latest dvds. Hope that helps steer you in the right direction.

Considering 321 was put out of business quite a while ago, yes you got took. You would be better off trying the free software DVDFab Decrypter, DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter to backup your movies. If you are determined to use this program then your best bet is to post your error and problem on the Xcopy forum that is listed on the bottom of the page and in the link that was given by binkie.

If u like the look and feel of dvd x copy you could also try i copy dvds 2 its very similar and its more up to date. You will still nead a copy remover like Dvd 43 but its not updated too often.Stick with Anydvd its solid and is often updated.
