When first installed xpress 3.2.1 it worked well, but now it gives me write error message after it reads the movie, and it takes 40 to an hour to burn. before I used to burn and write in 30 min. max. Also I used my win/xp restore point to make xpress work like it used to, but now that does not work. I have been told to go to afterdawn and use the software, but what software is it???? I have uninstalled and reinstalled Xpress, but that has not worked. Should I format my drive and reinstall?
    thanks

The software they are talking about is DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter

    Mtz,

Can you post the Xpress error log? Things you can also try:
    1) Checking to make sure your ide settings are set to DMA
    2) If you have multiple optical drives, make sure your dvd burner is the master drive
    3) Updating your aspi layer: (use v1.8 and if it's unavailable use v1.7)

    4) Not sure which media your using, but recommend branded Verbatim or branded Ritek's.

    Try doing "movie only".

Hmmm ... must have missed that. lol, many of us use XP, and have installed a "working" aspi layer.

If you really want to do the whole movie, try Shrink and Decrypter.

the strange thing regarding the too big of file is that I burned Pirates of the Caribbean once before with no problem. then a few days later when I went to burn some other movies that's when it wouldn't work at all?? I will try the other two programs that you recommend. Does this mean I quit using dvd x copy Xpress?
    thanks

Well it's really up to you. I have(started with) XCopy Platinum, and rarely use it now.
