Hello, I recently bought this software to transfer my movie files onto DVD disc. Both CLB (agent at 321) and the retail people I asked assured me that this software will do just that. Luckily I bought direct from 321 so that I will have the option to return it if I can't get it to go. My files are both avi (which won't work in this program at all, according to this tutorial http://www.polarhome.com:793/~afonic/dvdxmaker.htm) and mpg or mpeg files. These won't go either. The (red) message that comes up with mpeg2 files is "PAL not valid" and with mpeg1 is "non-DVD compliant". While I'm certainly not a super-geek, I'm not a newbie either. It just seems to me that none of the file types that are supposed to work with this software actually do. I had already posted this question before, but somebody deleted my post. I'll try it again here. Is there anyone out there with the same problems and/or answers ? Any help is appreciated ! Also, who would I need to request a refund from in case I can't get an answer that works ? KN
DVD X Maker Sucks Crap...None of the So Called Do it all for you AVI/Mpeg ect to DVD programs Work properly...This is Because the Software and the Poeple who Buy the Software assume that any file can be put on DVD with good Quality which is Just Not true.. Your Pal Movie Files Can Not be put on to a NTSC DVD, Well Not without First converting it to NTSC which you would Have to Know what you are Doing to do..And Low Resolution Mpeg1 files Like Streaming Mpeg1 files will not make a watchable Standard DVD... Were you should Start is getting a Good Quality Mpeg encoder like Tmpgenc or Mainconcept Encoder to encode your Files to DVD compliant Mpeg2 files, then get a DVD authoring program to Author the Mpeg2 files to DVD, something really easy to use is "Tmpgenc DVD author" you should also read some of the Guides on the "User submitted Guides" section, they should explain a couple of Methods you can use to Put some of your files on DVD....Good Luck PS: When Looking for the right software do Not ask the Poeple who sell the Software if there software will work because they will allways say yes..Ask someone who has done it before...
