    Hi there.

Im working for a period of 6 months at this company for my school.

My job here, is to rip dvds and put them in a video format. And in a later stage to convert them to windows media 9.

    I have about 100 dvd's to convert.

The problem im having is that the audio has to be dolby digital 6ch. (5.1) but im unable to find any program that has done what we want.

Basicly, I need a media file, with the dolby 5.1 sound included. not a seperate ac3 file.
I don't have to burn it to a cd/dvd. but we have to be able to run if from our computer.

Just a movie, ripped from the dvd, in highest quality possible. and in a later stage convert it to windows media 9.

We have a contract for ripping the dvd's, so all this is legal.

    Any suggestions ?
As I said before, I have over 100 dvd's to do, so.. rather have one tool then using 9 different software programs.

We also don't mind paying for a tool.

Well you can allways rip the DVD"s then encode them to DivX and keep the AC3 audio but when you convert them to Windows Media you will not be able to use the AC3 sound cuz Windows media doesn"t support haveing AC3 audio...OK...What you are trying to do can easilly be done with a couple Freeware Programs...First you can use "SmartRipper" to Rip the Vob files to your Hard drive ,you should Rip the Vob as a Single Large Vob file and only with the Audio track you want to keep, Smartripper has settings in it to do this...Then you can use "Virtual Dub_Mpeg2_AC3" to convert the Vob file to a DiVx AVI File while keeping the AC3 audio, But you will also need to install a simple AC3 ACM Decompressor...This is a Very simple and Free Method for Converting DVD to AVI while keeping the AC3 audio....You can find this software on the net but you might have a little trouble finding the Virtual Dub_Mpeg2_AC3 version and the AC3 ACM Decompressor so if you cant find them You can e-mail me and I"ll send them to you...Cheers
