I am trying to convert a movie to 300 megs or smaller from dvd. I am trying to use several pieces of software, one is dvd2avi. I converted the video easily, but the audio can never get converted to where tmpgenc can read it. It keeps the audio in an AC3 format instead of a wav file like the directions said that it would be changed to. If anyone knows how to fix this problem, please tell.

So your Problem is that you can not get DVD2AVI to give you a Wav file instead of an AC3 file??? This is easy ..When useing DVD2AVI go to "Audio" to "Dolby Digital" and change it to "Decode" it can NOT be on "Demux".and Make sure that "Dolby Surround Downmix" is selected also..Now when you make a D2V file there will be a Wav file instead of an AC3 file, But you could have just used a Simple Audio encoder like "Headac3he" to Encode the AC3 to Wav....Cheers
