    Hi all,
I have been using DVDX to create my VCD's and SVCD's however had big problems with the audio and video sync. I have been reading the forums and have started using DVD2SVCD with cce sp2.50. This has fixed the audio video problem but the playback sometimes skips and is a little jerky in some cases.

I am using a constant bitrate and have also tried variable bitrate with the same problems occurring. I have also followed guides and still no luck.

Could someone point me in the right direction as to where my problem could be as I am stumped

    cheers

I had a similar problem (on DVD player not computer). tried everything to fix. the only thing that fixed my problem was the burn speed, I now burn at 4x and get beautiful SVCDs

(some CD burners and cdr media don't handle high speed burns very well and also take into account that in mode 2/xa you are not using some of the standard error correction for cd media only mpeg error correction)

When I use DVDSVCD do I burn the MPEG file or the bin file as nero doesn't allow me to burn the bin file.

I would suggest you use VCDXBuild in DVD2SVCD instead of VCDImager, I have never successfully created an SVCD with VCDImager.

And of course the low speed burning is always the best idea if you are burning vcd/svcd/audio. Also I recommend you get good media and dont settle for cheap media!

how do I use VCDeasy after I have created the bin/cue files. I tried to add them but it wants the MPEG files. I don't undertand it. Please guide me in the right direction.

1.) On the left side of the VCDEasy window pick the "Tools" icon.

2.) After selecting that icon you will select the "CDRDAO Tools" menu button on the top.

The rest should be pretty self explanatory.

(If the "burn a que or toc cd image" is grayed out, check your settings for cd writer under the file menu)

Thanks for your help people but this has not solved my jerking skipping problem. This jerky action happens even in the muxed mpg file so it is burning properly I think it may be a setting in the encoding. Any Ideas?

I wouldnt think it would be a setting, more the media or your burner or something!
