I have been ripping/burning for 3 days now - such fun. but today when I tried to rip using Shrink/Nero with DVD43 running, my dvd drive would not recognize the disc (Pirates of the Caribbean). I restarted and then it wouldn't even recognize it to play it. I would recognize some other discs (but not all) but it took a very long time to do anything. So i logged onto this great site and found that some are having trouble with DVD43 version 2 with it not uninstalling. so I was able to uninstall it adn reinstall DVD43 version 1. and now everything is working fine. It doesn't make sense to me - anyone else had this prob?
Hi, Not too sure. There have been some rumblings about the validity of ver. 2, so if ver. 1 works for you, I'd stick with it. I've been using ver.2 for a while now with no problems, but that's just me. I'm still waiting to see if I get the "pay up sucker" screen.
I think the major difference between the 2 is that version 1X uses the Patin couffin engine and version 2 doesn't. There has been some noise about difficulties with the Patin couffin engine but I've been using it with CopyToDVD/Blind write for some time now without incident. _ _X_X_X_X_X_[small] "Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth."
