I tried to back up the Stephen King's "Ridding the bullet" using dvd4free and Roxio: After inserting the disc and the green face I opened Roxio copy-dvd but when it was analysing the dvd just closed itself and never wanted to open again. So I tried clonedvd but it stalled at the beginning (I supposed it was because that bad sector lock) so I eliminated chapter 1 from the main movie.
But at the end, after ripping to the HD I couldn't open nor see the movie. Any suggestions?

I don't know anything about "Roxio and CloneDVD", so I can't really help or give you any comment on them. However, I would highly recommend you to get DVD Decrypter (free... while it still available at afterdawn.com) and DVD Shrink (free). DVD Decrypter will "decrypt" and "bypass" any copyrighted protection or protection codes that was put on the new release dvds with 100% flawlessly.

I copy this directly from DVD43's website, and this is what it said to troubleshoot errors.

IF YOU GET ERRORS USING DVD43:
1: Before you begin copying a DVD, close DVD43 by clicking on the smiley face in the task bar and select the 'Close' menu item.
2: Insert the movie you want to copy, play it using your software DVD player for about 1 minute, then close the software DVD player.
3: Start DVD43 (click the Start button, select 'All Programs' and select 'DVD43') and let DVD43 detect the movie and turn green.
4: Start your DVD copy software. If you still get an encrypted DVD error, reboot your computer - DVD43 is temperamental sometimes.

However, for myself, before I even open up any ripping and backing up programs, I play the "original dvd" at least "2 - 3 minutes" using my WinDVD player. Then I open up DVD43 (START, PROGRAMS, DVD43, and click on it's GREEN FACE DVD43). I let DVD43 detects and decrypt the protection codes/copyrighted protection, once detected it'll show an "angry face", then once it "decrypted" the protection code, it'll eventually show a "happy/smiley green face" on task bar. After this, I open up either DVD Shrink or Nero Recode 2 to do the encoding and compressing -- and so on, it'll be just another piece of cake. This method works for me 100% flawlessly.

    [bold]CLONEDVD3 IS THE FAKE ONE!![/bold]

Just wanted you to be aware of that. Get CloneDVD 2 (click on it), it's the good one.
