have disk with episodes vob 1 to 7. tried to shrink onto 1 DVD5 using dvdfab. program reduces to 5 vob files that don't maintain episode (episodes overlap). have tried custom but still doesn't work. ultimately want each epison in its own vob but shrunk to fit. Help
Why does every episode have to be in its own VOB file if you're creating a DVD5? Most video titles are contained on several VOBs since VOBs cannot exceed 1GB under the DVD standards. Is there a menu with the DVD? The overlap of episodes doesn't affect how the disk is played. Afterall, there are multiple scene in any video and they are grouped on one VOB as well.
i would like to keep them seperate for future use. would like to convert episode easily to watch on psp. don't necessarly want to have to watch all episodes to get to one i want or have to edit to put only 1 episode on psp. thanks
To do what you want to do you'll have to strip each episode separately from the DVD. If it's an episodic DVD, each episode is likely a separate main title. Use DVD Shrink in Reauthor mode, locate each episodic main title, drag that main title to the left reauthor pane and back it up to a hard disk folder. Repeat for every episode. Before doing this you also have to go into the Preferences and set the VOB to unlimited size as follows: Edit -> Preferences... -> Output File tab -> uncheck "Split VOB Files into 1 GB Size Chunks" You'll end up with every folder containing one IFO, 1 BUP, and 1 VOB file and of course one folder for every episode. If more than one episode is contained in a main title for whatever reason, you'll have to use DVD Shrink's Start-End Frame feature to select the starting and ending frames for each episode. This would be in lieu of selecting indiviual main titles.
You could also use DVDDecrypter in IFO mode. You will have to select the episode you want to rip and rip them individually.
