    Situation:

You're part of a torrent site and can dl movies to back up your own. (cough, cough). You can dl...say...fantastic four in either option A: dvdr format or option B: xvid format. One is roughly 4 gigs and the other is about 700MB. You will re-encode the xvid version so that either way, you'll end up with a dvd. Which do you dl?

(You can choose option A or B but if you can tell me why, that'd be more helpful.)

Let's take both options into account, so now we have three. First one is a direct dvdr rip that's been compressed with something like Nero, the second one is the 700MB xvid, and the third will be a 4 gig download that's been re-encoded with cce or something before it's resized to the 4 gig size.

i prefer the 700meg option as its the raw form.In that instance i like to use my own converter as the cce one doesnt always work but does have give good results when it does
