Hi ever1, needin help here as im goin crazy tryin to fix this. The problem is with a family members computer. No matter what DVDRW drive i install in the system it is only being discovered as a CDROM drive by windows. This only started happening when my aunty took her PC to s shop to be "fixed" (from what i can tell it was the ntldr that had become corrupt) The drives being used all work fine on my home computers( drives = pioneer 111d and liton sohw- 633s) any help on solving this would be great thanks again elmunkee
do you mean when you look at it with MY COMPUTER open? or in the Device Manager? if it says that in MY COMPUTER it doesn't matter
hi, thanks for the response. Ive managed to get it working ... The burner works when i use 3rd party applications ( eg nero or ashampoo) but when trying to use windows integrated apps ( eg WMP and a simple drag and dorop to the CD drive it allways returns back an error or disc full message) Just need to show my aunt how to use ashampoo, lol thanks again elmunkee
If you are trying to use the Windows XP built in burning program to burn DVD's, it isn't going to happen. The XP program can only burn to CD's.
it wouldnt recognise the cd,s as being empty. D:\ inaccessible error would appear when trying to drag and drop onto the drive and WMP would return a disc is full message thanks again el munkee
