- i take it the burner is external or in a USB enslosure etc, just checking - reload your motherboard drivers to turn on DMA - CMC Magnetics make some of the most evil quality DVD discs out there, so i wouldn't be surprised if these CD's are the cause of your grief. Also, apparently dvd burners have 2 lasers, one for CD's and one for DVD's. it's always possible it's faulty, but is more likely to be you just need to follow ALL the suggestions i'm making here.. - if following ALL suggestions doesn't work, try better quality CD's - quote from ' http://www.nero.com/en/FAQs_Error_Messages.html#9 - ' - splat!, see previous comments - i only ever do 16x max on CD's, maybe 24x sometimes, but i'd never do 48x, whether it's data or audio
DVD-RW is built in, NEC 3520 i believe. Which drivers specifically for the Mobo are you recommending I reinstall? DMA?
