I have a new Panasonic DMR-ES40V DVD Recorder.
I am using TDK +R Disks.

    I have recorded 7 disks.
3 of them play on both my Toshiba and Phillips DVD players
4 of them play only on my Phillips DVD player.
I am able to read them on my computer and can use DVD shrink/Nero to make a copy. The copy plays on all the DVD players.

I'm doing exactly the same thing each time. I'm wondering it it has to do with finalizing the disk. Panasonic is sending me something new to "update" the recorder so the disks are more compatible with other players.

    Questions:

    1. Has anyone ever had this problem and found a solution?

    2. Anyone have better luck on compatibility with another brand of recorder. At this point I can still take this player back to the store for a refund.

If you are able to re-copy them just booktype to dvd-rom in nero or decrypter. Not all my dvd's made by my panny work in everything but there is a way around it. It just matters if you like the recorder and it's features or not. The next one could have the same issues. Hope that helps
